a very spring photo shoot with MacKenzie-Childs!

front and back cover!

If you’ve been following us for a while you may remember me teasing about a fun project I was working on back in November. I had the absolute pleasure to design on site for the Spring 2022 MacKenzie-Childs catalog shoot! This project consisted of sourcing spring flowers in the tail end of fall. I am lucky to be able to work with a host of wholesalers and across the globe it was in fact springtime! Bringing in tulips and peonies in November had me majorly ready to skip winter all together.

My behind the scenes photos below!

I spent three days at the gorgeous Kester Homestead in Memphis, NY. Moving between an array of different shots. Working on a photoshoot is completely different than working on an event. With an event you create something that will last and stay beautiful for an extended period of time. For a photoshoot it’s the complete opposite. Having to schedule in multiple shots while the daylight is available means you work fast and forgo all the technical things you have been taught. Working on set also means a lot of changes. Moving and editing flowers to look good on camera and keeping everything looking organic was a fun challenge.

And the finished product!!

Which shot is your favorite??
